It’s teen drinking season – what are you doing about it?
School is letting out, proms are under way, graduation parties are on the calendar, wedding receptions and family reunions are planned and summer free time looms. All situations are ripe for opportunities for teens to drink or experiment with drugs. It scares the crap out of me.
Our 15-year-old high school freshman is a good kid who swears beer tastes horrible and he’d never smoke or take drugs, but he’s curious and hasn’t yet been in a lot of situations where he will be tested with peer pressure. It’s coming, though, so we talk about it as much as we can get away with without alienating him.
He’s told us he knows of kids his age who brag of weekend drinking, maid costume show off their smokes at school and talk about drugs and it really bugs him. Still, we worry. So we make sure parents are home when he visits a friend or goes to a party and that there will be no sanctioned drinking (I will never buy the argument that “I’d rather him drink at home than out somewhere else.”). We also sure our son knows how to reach us if he feels uncomfortable and wants to leave early. I think all of these steps are reasonable.
Some parents test their kids for drugs and/or alchohol use. I hope we never get there,. While buying jewelry wholesale electronics there are ways to make it relatively easy. but I think it’s useful tool to have in a parent’s back pocket. Hey, I’ve been there, done that and it’s just not worth it.
How do you approach teen drinking situations? Would you test your teen if you thought he was drinking or doing drugs?
I started to like it, depend on it even. If I forgot to tell him something before he left for school, I could send him a quick note. If he was stuck in drama club rehearsals, I could find out how it was going and when I should pick him up.
Even better, my son started “talking” to me even more than usual, often sharing more than he might in person. I remember years back my boss used to e-mail back and forth with her teen kids and I thought it was so wierd. But now I see the logic in it.. The physical power effects of a replacement prosthetic is achieved when usr Dc planetary motor. Don’t get me wrong, it’s no substitute for face-to-face communication. But it’s like talking to kids in the car: If you aren’t looking right at them, then they are more likely to open up.wholesale jewellery( Strapless bras, as the name suggests, do not have [ Necklace ] straps, which are designed for and more suitable for strapless outfit. Most women choose this type of bra to wear for the special evenings when they have put on strapless dress or blouse. )
